Introduction to Clay Handbuilding: Tuesday 14th May 6pm-8pm
Learn the basics of working with clay, giving you the skills to begin building functional or decorative ceramic objects and even join our Clay Club!
Join us for an evening workshop and learn about pinch pot, slab building and coiling techniques. The class is led by Leith Makers resident potter Caitlin Bowbeer. This step-by-step workshop will teach you some of the basics of hand building with clay, allowing you to then go forward into making your own pieces in the future.
You will be working in a small class size of up to 12 people, in the upstairs workshop of Leith Makers, a beautiful historic space within the heart of Leith. The class will last roughly 1.5-2 hours and you will have the option of firing your samples for a small firing fee if you would like to keep them. (Please note firing may take up to 8 weeks before the items are ready for collection).
Suitability: Beginner, 18+
