Preserving Light in Watercolour
As the evenings grow darker, explore how to create a beautiful, atmospheric night-time scene in watercolour while keeping those little moments of light glowing.
We’ll discover a variety of techniques for preserving areas of light. Working with rich, moody washes and carefully protected highlights, you’ll learn how contrast can transform a painting and bring a night-time
scene to life.
This relaxed workshop is a chance to experiment with colour, tone and atmosphere while developing your watercolour skills in a friendly and encouraging environment. Whether you’re a complete beginner or returning to art after a break, you’ll be very welcome.
About your tutor: Susan Mitchell is a nature-inspired illustrator passionate about bringing stories to life through books, cards and giftware. Alongside her illustration work, she runs a variety of creative workshops for adults and children around Edinburgh.
