Spring-board your Creativity - Introduction to Drawing: Thursday 17th April 7.00pm - 9.00pm
Spring is a perfect time to hone your fine-art skills, with the natural world re-emerging in all its beauty.
This taster class is a perfect opportunity to grow your drawing skills, under the expert and supportive tutorship of local artist, Susan Mitchell.
This class is ideally suited to people looking to develop their drawing and painting skills further in our upcoming 4-class series, but it also works well as a stand-alone class.
For the taster we will focus on drawing exercises with a variety of materials, culminating in a finished mixed media piece for you to take home.
If you decide to progress onto the full course, taken together these classes will provide an ideal opportunity to take a deeper dive into developing your drawing and painting skills.
About your tutor:
Susan Mitchell is a nature-based illustrator of books, cards, and giftware. She loves to work with watercolour and painted paper collage. Following her degree in drawing and painting at Edinburgh College of Art she worked in Montreal as an illustrator of children's books. Since moving back to Scotland, Susan has developed her own range of greeting cards and notebooks which are stocked in independent gift shops across Scotland.
Along with working on her own projects, she loves to teach and runs various workshops and classes for adults and children in and around Edinburgh. For the last couple of years, she has been running Drink & Draw workshops where people get a chance to try out different materials and subjects in a relaxed and friendly environment. These new classes will provide an opportunity to take a deeper dive into developing drawing and painting skills.
