Sea Glass Jewellery Workshop: Saturday 1st June 2.00pm - 4.00pm
Join our relaxed and creative two hour workshop learning to make your very own sea glass jewellery.
By the end of the workshop, you’ll get to take away two unique pieces jewellery. Using your chosen sea glass, you’ll be shown how to make a pendant necklace and a pair of earrings. These can be worn straight away or given as a gift.
During the workshop, you will:
- learn two techniques - wire wrapping and drilling.
- be shown a selection of different designs to create
- be guided on how to clean and your drill sea glass
- learn to use the tools provided to create your unique jewellery
- be taught the techniques to assemble your jewellery
- create two beautiful items of jewellery to take home with you.
For wrapping your sea glass/pottery, you’ll have a choice of colour wire - brass, copper or silver. When constructing the necklaces, you will have a choice of colour cord made from waxed cotton to hang the pendant. For the earrings you will have a choice of sterling-silver or gold-filled ear wires and hoops are gold-plated or stainless steel.
Suitability: Beginner up, 18+
What we provide: all materials, tea and coffee, soft drinks and snacks. NB - you can bring your own favourite pieces(s) of sea glass too, if you would like to work with them.

Instructor: Caroline, Joy Revival Design Studio
Caroline has always loved colour and textures. She studied upholstery and the School of Master Upholsterers and Soft Furnishing in Stirling before setting up her own business making upholstered boxes, lampshades, and seaglass jewellery - always full of colour and usually using repurposed materials. The ethos of Joy Revival Design is to create beautiful items that are kind to the planet.
Living by the sea in Portobello, and walking her dog Lola by the beach daily, her designs are often inspired by the vast ever changing sky and water, from the inky blue and green sea to the rolling hills in the distance and its contrast with the flat ocean (on a calm day!) It can also be the smallest thing that inspires her, from the the patterns the cracks make in the sea wall, or the swirls in the peebles on the beach.
Cost: £ 55
NB: The workshop and toilet of Leith Makers is located on the first floor of the building, up a small flight of stairs.
