Altered Book Workshop
Create Your Own Unique Sketchbook with Gesso and Collage
In this hands-on workshop, you’ll transform a plain book into a one-of-a-kind sketchbook using gesso, collage, and mixed-media techniques. We’ll explore layering, texture, and composition to give each page a unique character and creative potential.
You’ll learn how to prepare surfaces with gesso, incorporate a variety of papers and materials to create interesting surfaces in your sketchbook that you can use for painting, still life or landscape sketching.
This is a playful, exploratory session—perfect for anyone looking to add depth and originality to their creative practice. All materials will be provided, but feel free to bring along any special papers, old prints, or scraps you’d like to include in your altered book.
Whether you’re a complete beginner or just getting back into art making, you’re very welcome.
